Resources as a Reusable Teaching Tools
DEN provides open resources—slides, publications, templates, and student outputs—that educators and students can adapt for teaching, seminars, and collaborative projects. These assets connect social sciences with the SDGs and support hands-on, globally engaged learning.
1-Social Sciences for Sustainable Development: Inspiring Action through DEN (KU Social Sciences Conference 2025)
How can social sciences move students from theory to action? This talk—delivered at the 2nd National & 3rd International KU Social Sciences Conference—shows how the Democratic Education Network (DEN) links research, fieldwork, and student publishing to SDG 4, 10, 16, and 17 through real projects, partnerships, and student leadership.
Presented by Dr Farhang Morady (University of Westminster), the slides highlight DEN’s student-led, staff-supported model; examples of projects on climate, inequality, peacebuilding, and education access; and how weekly collaboration translates into blogs, conferences, field trips, and published books.
