Global Engagement
Global Engagement at DEN goes beyond exchange and collaboration. It is a student-led model in which learners co-produce knowledge across borders through research, publications, conferences, and partnerships that address global challenges.
The University of Westminster, located in the heart of London, showcases the city’s rich diversity. DEN reflects this diversity in its mission by engaging students through strong connections among them, their local communities, and international partners. It links these experiences to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
DEN encourages collaboration between students and staff, creating relationships that go beyond geographical borders. We also support local outreach projects and have developed interdisciplinary modules. These modules connect classroom learning with global issues, helping education support important goals such as SDG 4, SDG 10, SDG 16, and SDG 17.
Our partnerships with local communities, international organisations, and universities around the globe foster a worldwide perspective. Career-focused internships and project-based learning provide students with opportunities to apply their skills in real-world situations. Through this approach, DEN empowers students to actively engage with their communities, devise solutions to pressing challenges, and emerge as leaders dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and sustainable future.
