The 2024 Democratic Education Summer School at the University of Westminster brought together over 60 students from 8 countries to explore the theme “Democracy in Action: Education, Participation, and Global Justice.” Through seminars, workshops, field visits, and creative group projects, students examined issues such as youth leadership, decolonising education, and civic engagement. Highlights included a visit to the UK Parliament, walking seminars in East London, and a student-led symposium showcasing innovative ideas. The programme fostered cross-cultural dialogue, critical thinking, and international collaboration, leaving students empowered, inspired, and better equipped to lead change in their communities.
